We are seeking a highly experienced Digital Twin Consultant to provide subject matter expertise on a 1099 basis to support capture efforts, solution architecture, and project execution. This consultant will provide strategic advisory, architecture design, and technical leadership in developing digital twin ecosystems for federal clients. Engagement may include proposal support, white paper development, technical solutioning, pilot implementations, and program execution support.
Work will be project-based and may range from short-term capture support to longer-term technical advisory roles, depending on contract awards.
Develop conceptual and reference architectures for digital twin implementations.
Align solutions with DoD Digital Engineering Strategy, MBSE best practices, and NIST frameworks.
Provide technical input for TRL maturation and prototype-to-field deployment planning.
Design secure cloud-based twin environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
Integrate real-time operational data, sensor feeds, APIs, and data lakes.
Support development of simulation environments and predictive models.
Contribute to technical volumes, solution narratives, and concept diagrams.
Participate in technical strategy sessions and government briefings.
Support pricing assumptions and level-of-effort scoping (as SME input).
Provide oversight or direct support in:
MBSE implementation
Digital thread integration
AI/ML-enabled analytics within twin platforms
Secure system deployment in federal environments
Advise on cybersecurity alignment (RMF, NIST 800-53/171, FedRAMP).
10+ years of experience in digital engineering, systems modeling, simulation, or digital twin architecture.
Experience supporting U.S. federal programs (DoD, DOE, NASA, DHA, etc.).
Expertise in MBSE methodologies (SysML, Cameo/MagicDraw, Sparx, DOORS).
Experience with secure cloud architectures (AWS/Azure Government).
Strong understanding of data integration pipelines and real-time analytics.
Ability to contribute to federal proposals and technical solution design.
R&D or advanced technology maturation programs (TRL 3–7).
Digital twin applications in defense systems, infrastructure, health systems, mining, manufacturing, or aerospace.
AI/ML integration into operational systems.
