General Manager
The ideal candidate thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment, wears multiple hats comfortably, and can navigate the unique requirements of supporting the leadership of two small GovCon entities simultaneously while maintaining operational excellence, process discipline, and professionalism. This is a remote position; however, candidates are highly preferred in the DC Metro Area.
Key Responsibilities
I. Multi-Entity Operational Management (35%)
Oversee and support day-to-day operations for the two small GovCon companies simultaneously.
Build and maintain consistent processes, SOPs, and workflows across both entities where possible; adapt where needed.
Monitor project execution, deliverables, and compliance requirements for active federal contracts.
Coordinate with project managers, employees, and subcontractors across companies to ensure timely deliverables, reports, and task completion.
Support HR-related workflows, including onboarding/offboarding, training coordination, and maintaining personnel files for each company.
Manage corporate documentation and ensure audit readiness for both entities
Ensure the physical and virtual office infrastructure supports multi-company operations (IT, facilities, equipment, company accounts).
II. Executive Support for Leadership (30%)
Manage complex calendars, calls, capture sessions, and customer/partner meetings across multiple companies.
Prepare briefing materials, talking points, slide decks, memos, and executive correspondence.
Coordinate travel, reimbursements, conference schedules, and federal meeting logistics.
Maintain action trackers, follow-up lists, and executive priorities for both companies.
Handle sensitive information with discretion, especially when navigating cross-company activities.
III. Office Management & Administrative Leadership (15%)
Manage company-wide communication, corporate calendars, and SharePoint/Teams organization.
Serve as the central administrative touchpoint for employees, consultants, subcontractors, and partners.
Implement consistent document management and version-control practices across companies.
Ensure corporate records, licenses, registrations, SAM.gov statuses, and representations & certifications remain current.
IV. Business Development & Proposal Support (10%)
Assist the CEO, capture leads, and BD team with partner engagement, scheduling, and pipeline activity across companies.
Coordinate NDAs, teaming agreements, subcontract packages, and data calls for multiple entities.
Support proposal development tasks including formatting, compliance checks, assembling volumes, bios/resume collection, and maintaining templates or past performance repositories.
Maintain BD trackers, contact lists, corporate capability materials, and conference follow-up actions.
V. Contract & Financial Administration Support (10%)
Coordinate timesheet compliance; assist in preparing invoice packages and collecting subcontractor documentation for all entities.
Track deliverables, reports, and contractual deadlines across parent and subsidiary organizations.
Assist the finance team with file preparation for audits, funding mods, and contract updates.
Help maintain equipment logs, property records, and corporate asset tracking.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.
7+ years of experience in operations, administration, or executive support roles; GovCon experience required.
Experience supporting multiple business entities, subsidiaries, or divisions strongly preferred.
Familiarity with federal contracting fundamentals (NDAs, TAs, subcontracts, FAR/DFARS basics, proposals, deliverables, audits).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Teams.
Exceptional communication, organization, and project management abilities.
Ability to manage competing priorities across different companies and stakeholders.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting founders/CEOs in small-business GovCon environments.
Knowledge of Unanet, QuickBooks, Deltek, or similar GovCon accounting systems.
Experience coordinating federal conferences and industry events.
HR administration experience.
